From the Play "MARY M and THE MAD PROPHET"
In "MARY M and THE MAD PROPHET", that spans millennia from the Old World to the Biblical Time of Jesus to the Now - the Chorus of Rocks appear on stage as actors draped in white robes in the desert. The Chorus comments on the evolution of the ancient Double Goddess to two Mary Magdalenes - the Bride and Hor who live through Jesus's ministry and crucifixion. The Double Goddess, depicted in pre-historic icons as two torsos on one set of legs, can be interpreted as dual aspects of the feminine - warrior-priestess, mother-daughter, earth-moon, menstruation-ovulation, life-death, and light and dark natural cycles that represent female sovereignty or 'Dual 'Queenship'.
My use of 'Hor' derives from Hathor, Egyptian Goddess of Music. In Greece, women who worshipped Aphrodite were called 'Horae' and the Hebrew word for dance is 'Hora' - the circle. This root word became 'whore" with its vulgar connotations.
(In the beginning, the Chorus of Rocks sit on desert sand near the River Jordan. Mary the Bride and Mary the Hor, two redheads, sit in the Double Goddess pose on a throne backstage.)
