Saraswasti
(The Flowing One)
Goddess Of All Knowledge & The Arts – Ancient India
Luminous Saraswasti
Serene
On your lotus blossom throne
Pearl necklaces entwine your soft breasts
Silver and sapphire crown your black hair
Born with Brahma from a golden egg
Your four arms hold music and language
Far from the cities, only those who
Dream
By the shore can see you
As you flow down
The blue river
The swan at your side.
Saraswasti is the Hindu Goddess of the arts, wisdom and the river. She is depicted with four arms, holding a vina, a book, a garland and vessel as she is seated on a white lotus flower with the Swan, symbolizing purity, at her feet.
